Task notes are added on the Notes tab within a task. They relate to the task as a whole rather than to a specific subtask, and are useful for recording decisions, escalations, or progress updates at the task level.
Open the task from the Work tab.
Go to the Notes tab.
Click Add note.
Write your note using the rich text editor.
Click Save.
Editing and deleting task notes
To edit a task note, click ⋮ on the note card and select Edit.
Where task notes appear
On the Task → Notes tab where they were created, displayed as note cards.
New: On the Client → Notes tab, in the Task & subtask notes section, grouped under the task and task name.
Subtask notes are added directly to individual subtasks within a task. They are the most granular level of notes in the platform and are useful for recording issues, progress, or decisions that relate to a specific step in the workflow.
How to add a subtask note
Open the task from the Work tab or Client Open Tasks.
Go to the Subtasks tab.
Click the subtask you want to add a note to. Notes can be added to subtasks only — not to milestones.
In the subtask detail panel on the right, scroll down to the Notes section.
Click + Add note.
Write your note and click Save.
Who can add subtask notes?
Any workspace user can add a subtask note but typically the assignee will add notes as work progresses.
Where subtask notes appear
Subtask notes roll up automatically to two places:
Subtask detail panel — Notes appear directly beneath the subtask they were added to.
Task → Notes tab — In the Subtask notes section, grouped by subtask name.
Client → Notes tab — In the Task & subtask notes section, grouped by task and then by subtask name.
Note persistence
Subtask notes are available on the Client Notes tab even when a subtask or task is marked completed or archived.
Subtask notes are permanently deleted if a task is permanently deleted.
