# Converting an Email into a Task

Any Pixie email, whether in your **Priority** or **Other** tab, can be made into a task.

With the email open, click **Create task from email**.

The task is created automatically, and appears in the [**To do** tab](https://help.usepixie.com/en/articles/5208645-to-do-task-list.md). The default task name is the subject of the email, and the default subtask is “Review email.”

A task created from an email can be [edited or renamed](https://help.usepixie.com/en/articles/5208598-editing-a-task-or-subtasks.md) like any other task, or marked as complete or reassigned. The “Review email” subtask is an [instruction subtask](https://help.usepixie.com/en/articles/5208625-instruction-subtasks.md), and you can [add more subtasks](https://help.usepixie.com/en/articles/5208632-creating-subtasks.md) as needed. While the task is open, you can assign the task to a client if needed, and the clicking the three-dot icon displays options to save the task as a template, [apply an existing template](https://help.usepixie.com/en/articles/5208653-task-templates-applying-to-a-task.md), make [recurring](https://help.usepixie.com/en/articles/5208648-scheduled-tasks-setting-a-one-time-task-to-recur.md), or delete the task.

The email itself also appears in the [task’s **Emails** tab](https://help.usepixie.com/en/articles/5208565-task-emails-files-and-notes.md).

The email will also appear as a [client email](https://help.usepixie.com/en/articles/5208666-client-files-emails-notes.md).
